Job description

We are expanding our Finance team with a Credit Controller based at our head office in Malta!

As a Credit Controller at Fast Track, you will report directly to the Credit Manager who is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of invoicing and collection processes. You will manage key operational tasks related to accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment reconciliation, contributing to the company’s cash flow and financial health. The position requires a proactive approach to resolving disputes, managing accounts receivable and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding invoices.


As a Credit Controller at Fast Track you will be focused on:


  • Invoicing and Payment Collection: Ensure timely and accurate issuance and delivery of invoices, adhere to customer agreements, and proactively follow up with clients to ensure payments are received before the due date, minimising overdue balances.

  • Payment Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts to ensure payments are accurately recorded and matched to corresponding invoices, maintaining up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks.

  • Overdue Payment Management: Implement and enforce the company’s credit policy for overdue accounts, following up with clients to create urgency for payment and applying necessary restrictions, while collaborating with the Credit Manager on escalated cases.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and maintain accounts receivable and ageing reports, analyse aged debts, and provide insights to the Credit Manager for improving collections, while generating monthly and ad-hoc reports on collection progress.

  • Collaboration with Commercial and Legal Teams: Work closely with the commercial and legal teams to ensure customer records, agreements, and payment terms are accurate and up-to-date while supporting the resolution of commercial escalations and maintaining detailed financial information.

  • Banking and Financial Operations: Provide necessary documentation to banks to resolve payment issues, ensure banking facilities remain operational by managing KYC updates, and assist with the opening of new accounts.

  • Process Automation and Improvements: Collaborate with the tech team to identify opportunities for automating invoicing and payment collection processes, improving efficiency and cash flow speed.

Job requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience performing a similar role in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related position.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial records and transactions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and familiar with accounting and invoicing processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling aged debts and financial reports.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently.
  • Tech Savvy: You are well-informed about modern technology, have a curiosity and understanding to stay agile, and are open to new technological and disruptive developments and advancements
  • Organisation and Independence: Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
