As the Head of SRE, you are critical in leading a team guaranteeing exceptional service reliability and maximizing system uptime.

We are expanding our SRE Team with a Head of SRE based onsite at our head office in Malta!

As the Head of SRE, you play a critical role in guaranteeing exceptional service reliability and maximizing system uptime. You will lead and manage both the SRE and SOC teams, implement industry best practices, and drive continuous enhancements across our infrastructure to support Fast Track’s mission of innovation and growth.


Core Functions

  • Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership to the SRE and SOC teams and make it scale for the future.

  • System Reliability: Develop and implement strategies to improve system uptime and reduce incident occurrence.

  • Incident Management: Oversee incident response and ensure swift resolution of issues.

  • Automation: Drive the adoption of automation in monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution processes.


As the Head of SRE at Fast Track you will be focused on delivering:


  • Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and lead the SRE and SOC teams.

  • Operational Reliability and Coverage: Ensure 24/7 operational coverage and system reliability.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement new tools and processes.

  • Incident Management:
    • Lead critical incident response efforts, ensuring timely communication, resolution, and follow-up actions.

    • Coordinate with the SOC & SRE team to provide 24/7 monitoring and first-line response to issues, escalating as necessary.

    • Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and drive the implementation of preventative measures.

  • Strategic Vision and Planning: Develop and implement the long-term vision and strategy for SRE, aligning it with business goals and future scaling needs.

  • Reporting & Communication: Report on system performance, incidents, and team progress to the C-level team.

  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to system downtime, performance degradation, and infrastructure failure, implementing redundancy and failover mechanisms.

  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Manage the SRE budget, ensuring that investments in tools, technology, and team resources align with company goals and provide long-term value

  • Continuous Improvement and Learning: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team regularly reviews incidents, performs post-mortems, and shares lessons learned.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within SRE or SOC teams.

  • Expertise in cloud environments, monitoring tools, and incident management systems.

  • Proven track record of improving system reliability and reducing downtime.

  • Strong technical background with an ability to drive automation.

  • Proactive and strategic thinker.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure.

  • Willingness to be available to support the team with escalations outside of normal office hours.

  • (Preferable but not essential) iGaming industry experience, preferably in B2B and B2C companies
