Job description
We are expanding our Tech team with a meticulous Release Manager based onsite in our international office in Barcelona!
Fast Track is expanding our presence in Barcelona and growing our team at a rapid pace! We are currently looking for high-performing individuals who enjoy working within release management. The Release Manager works closely with our product delivery teams, QA, and internal business stakeholders as well as representing Fast Track in relation to the communication and coordination of a platform release with our Partners.
The primary responsibility of the Release Manager is to ensure our platform releases are delivered to our customers with as little friction as possible. Continuously developing our process to provide clarity on the contents and timing of its delivery to the business and our partners. By ensuring information around our releases flows seamlessly internally to our User Acceptance, Partner Managers, and Integration Management team we communicate and document upcoming features and improvements effectively. Additionally, the Release Manager plays a pivotal role in communicating hotfixes and patches to Fast Tracks Partners, ensuring that all relevant parties are informed when a hotfix or patch is necessary and gathering relevant information from the engineering team.
They also play an integral role in supporting our QA team with testing, creating bug reports, and test cases, and otherwise supporting the interrogation and quality of the release of platform versions.
With Fast Track experiencing a critical and exciting growth phase, we need to balance timely releases together with high-quality delivery of our updates to our Partners this falls to the Release Manager to own.
As a Release Manager at Fast Track your focus will be:
Primary Contact and Knowledge Source:
Be the primary contact and source of knowledge regarding all elements leading to a release.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with our engineering departments to manage and distribute meaningful release notes internally and externally.
Obtain buy-in from internal stakeholders on the readiness, contents, and timing for a platform release.
Develop a release plan with our engineering team and provide timely communication of that plan to all internal stakeholders and then to our partners.
Quality Assurance Support:
Testing Support and bug monitoring.
Provide support to our QA team in the testing process leading to a potential release candidate and facilitate the development of test cases.
Gatekeep the quality of the release by creating and monitoring the status of bugs related to new and old features or components, especially pertaining to new functionality.
Manage, together with QA, the regression test suite in terms of smoke, sanity, and full regression test cases and plans.
Process Management:
Draft consistent and timely release documentation
Maintain documentation pertaining to the release process and continually seek improvement in terms of quality and efficiency of the process.
Utilise and grow our in-house release management system for managing releases.
Job requirements
Must have strong project management experience
Experience in working with engineering teams directly
Understanding of how to write comprehensive and readily understood issues related to bug tracking and test cases
Excellent written English communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing work environment
An good understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
Solution-oriented, adaptable and future-focused
Great communication and excellent relationship management skills
